My Story

The beginning

My life has always been oriented around movement - I grew up in gymnastics, dancing, working with horses, and spent most of my childhood traipsing through the forests of New England. I began practicing yoga and weightlifting in my late teens and quickly realized there was only so far I could push myself without finding a way to rehabilitate and care for my body beyond physical activity. I was lucky enough to know some wonderful massage therapists, but it took a few more years for me to realize that Massage Therapy was the field for me. I began teaching at and managing a yoga studio in Sarasota, Florida which illuminated my love for helping others find ease and comfort in their own body. Eventually, I realized that I needed to dive deeper in to the understanding of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology to help others in the way that I truly wanted to and was encouraged to consider massage school by those around me.

Massage Training

I chose to train at Sarasota School of Massage Therapy because of their commitment to teaching a curriculum oriented around the most up-to-date evidence and science-based massage practices with a heavy focus on anatomy & physiology. Although most states require a minimum 500-hour curriculum, they offered only an 800-hour program with the intention of creating knowledgeable, skillful, and caring massage therapists. I graduated and became licensed in 2018, and have continued to pursue education that aligns with my goal to be at the forefront of the massage therapy field. I completed the National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer Certification in April of 2023, and will be pursuing certification in a functional movement modality so that I can assist clients more effectively in finding the physical movement that resonates most with them, integrating work on and off the table.

What to expect

I take a therapeutic and completely customized approach to every session by utilizing a blend of deep tissue, myofascial, and orthopedic techniques while incorporating client movement for tissue mobilization. I will also incorporate my understanding of breath and movement from years of teaching and practicing yoga. The depth of pressure and intensity of work will be specified to each clients needs for that session. This work is a collaborative effort and I will always work with you and your body to achieve the best results. I will never work beyond your pain threshold. Our goal together will be the management of muscular pain and tension, creating optimal and functional movement, proper range of motion, and finding ease in your body whatever that means for you. Whether you are struggling with injury rehabilitation, chronic pain and stiffness, postural issues, athletic performance, or even heightened stress levels I am here to help.

I look forward to working together to achieve the comfort and ease in your body that you deserve to experience.
