What IS MASSAGE Therapy
Massage Therapy has been developed into a regulated health profession that involves hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body: the muscles, connective tissue, nerves, ligaments, tendons and joints.
Massage therapy can help relieve and prevent pain and physical dysfunction of the body. An individual's health and well-being may be improved as massage has a therapeutic effect on the body's muscular, nervous and circulatory systems.
What TO EXPECT?
Prior to the start of your treatment, a thorough case history and assessment of your current health status will be completed, allowing the therapist to create a personalized treatment plan for you.
The information discussed between the therapist and you, the client is completely confidential and is only released with your written consent.
Before your treatment begins the therapist will ask you for your consent to treatment. Details of the treatment will be discussed such as, areas of the body you wished to have worked on, draping options, side-effects and any risks that may develop if not treated. As the client you have the option of modifying or stopping the treatment at any given time, to ensure your safety, security and comfort level. Your privacy will always be respected.
The depth of the massage is discussed prior to the start of the treatment and it is the client’s responsibility to communicate with the therapist during the treatment in order to control the level of comfort/depth. All requests and modifications from the client are respected by the therapist, it is then the therapist's responsibility to address any concerns, to ensure you- the client, receive the optimal treatment.
